About the Department
Albany Medical College's Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology is a high-volume academic center serving as a regional perinatal referral hub. The department manages over 2,500 deliveries annually and 18,000+ ambulatory clinic visits, caring for a diverse patient population with complex maternal and fetal co-morbidities. The team includes 30 physicians, 10 advanced practice providers, 2 genetic counselors, and a robust educational program with 24 residents and 6 fellows. Comprehensive multidisciplinary support is provided by Maternal-Fetal Medicine, OB anesthesia, neonatology, nursing, and ancillary services.
About the Role
We are seeking a full-time Obstetrician-Gynecologist Hospitalist to join our academic inpatient team. This role is designed for a physician dedicated to labor and delivery, obstetric triage, and inpatient gynecologic care, free from outpatient clinic responsibilities. The position offers a shift-based model featuring 7-24 hour monthly shifts (flexible as 24-hour or split day/night blocks), covering day, night, weekend, and holiday schedules.
As a Hospitalist, you will provide comprehensive inpatient obstetrical care, manage emergencies and high-risk pregnancies in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and supervise urgent gynecologic consultations. A core component of this position is the academic mission: you will actively engage in teaching OB-GYN residents and medical students, participate in simulation training, and contribute to quality improvement and protocol development. This role offers a unique opportunity to help develop an academic OBGYN Hospitalist program within a well-respected health system.
