US Foods is one of the largest food distributors in the country, built on a culture of "You Matter." We pride ourselves on a history of promoting from within, offering unlimited career growth opportunities alongside ongoing job skills and leadership development training. Our organization is defined by our pillars of cultural beliefs, work ethic, collaborative spirit, and service, ensuring that every team member's hard work is recognized and rewarded.
As a Shuttle Truck Driver, you will serve as a crucial link in our transportation network, operating tractor-trailers (potentially doubles) between US Foods distribution centers and shuttle yards. Your primary mission is to safely and efficiently switch out loaded trailers with empty ones, ensuring the continuous flow of goods that defines our success.
You will be one of the important faces of our organization, representing our commitment to integrity and reliability while building trusting relationships with customers. This role is foundational to our operations, requiring you to manage route and account numbers, verify customer invoices, and perform rigorous safety checks on trucks and trailers. From hooking trailers carefully to managing electronic time-keeping systems and handling fuel and paperwork, your efforts ensure that our delivery operations run smoothly.
We offer a supportive environment where your dedication is valued. Shuttle Truck Drivers enjoy a guaranteed minimum of 40 hours per week on a Sunday–Thursday schedule (starting between 6 PM and 11 PM). The role includes paid training, paid overtime, and a comprehensive benefits package that starts on day one, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase plans, life insurance, and paid parental leave. We also provide service recognition and employee rewards to celebrate your contributions.
To join our transportation team, candidates must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid CDL A issued by their state of legal residence with the necessary endorsements, including a Double Endorsement License. Applicants must be DOT qualified and have a minimum of six months of commercial truck driving experience, or three months of foodservice or food and beverage truck delivery experience.
All drivers are required to register with the FMCSA Clearinghouse, a secure online database that provides real-time information regarding drug and alcohol program violations for commercial drivers. Registration is mandatory for all truck drivers to comply with Department of Transportation regulations.
US Foods is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, ensuring a fair and supportive environment for all team members.
