As a Key Holder, you serve as a vital extension of store management, ensuring the business runs smoothly in their absence. You are responsible for the full operational cycle of the store, from opening and closing procedures to managing cash handling, inventory accuracy, and maintaining a safe, orderly environment. This role is designed for a proactive leader who can step up to coach team members, resolve customer issues, and uphold Walgreens' distinctive service standards.
Your day begins by opening the store, starting up required systems, and preparing the floor and stockroom for the business day. You will manage the back door for deliveries and ensure the store is ready for customers. Throughout the shift, you engage with customers and patients, offering assistance and resolving issues to deliver a delightful experience. You model best practices for the team, from proactive service habits to proper product handling.
Operationally, you hold the keys to the store and are accountable for registering all sales, managing price changes, and maintaining accurate inventory counts. You assist the manager with order reviews, reverse logistics, and visual merchandising, including resets and seasonal displays. You also play a key role in compliance, ensuring adherence to state laws regarding regulated products and maintaining proper separation of food items. When management is absent, you act as a liaison, communicating tasks to the team and reporting any disciplinary issues or customer complaints.
To apply, please ensure you meet the core requirements, including one year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder experience. Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English is required (except in Puerto Rico). If you have knowledge of store inventory control, that is preferred. For pharmacy-related duties, obtaining and maintaining valid PTCB certification or a pharmacy license as required by state is necessary.
Walgreens is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability and veterans. We are committed to fostering a respectful environment where all team members can thrive.
