As a Key Holder, you serve as a vital extension of store management, stepping in to open and close the store, manage cash operations, and ensure the floor and stockroom are prepared for the business day. This role is designed for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced retail environment and are passionate about delivering a distinctive and delightful customer experience. You will act as a liaison between management and the team, communicating tasks and reporting issues when leadership is not present.
Your day involves more than just operational tasks; it is about modeling Walgreens service traits and sharing best practices with your team. You will engage with customers and patients, offering assistance and resolving issues to ensure satisfaction. From greeting customers and maintaining eye contact to proactively identifying needs, you set the tone for the store's atmosphere.
Operationally, you will manage the flow of goods by assisting with vendor deliveries, reviewing order exceptions, and maintaining accurate inventory counts. You will also oversee pricing accuracy, ensuring proper signage and compliance with local regulations for regulated products like alcohol and tobacco. Additionally, you play a key role in maintaining store safety and order, from conducting bag checks to ensuring the store remains clean and neat.
Candidates with one year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience are encouraged to apply. Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English is required (except in Puerto Rico). Those with knowledge of store inventory control are preferred. Please note that obtaining and maintaining valid PTCB certification or a pharmacy license is required as dictated by state regulations.
