About the Role
As a Key Carrier, you serve as a vital link between management and the team, stepping in to open and close the store when leadership is absent. This role is designed for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced retail environment and are committed to delivering a distinctive, delightful customer experience. You will be responsible for ensuring the store is fully operational, from system startups and cash handling to preparing the floor and stockroom for the day's business.
Your day involves more than just managing the register; you are the face of the store for customers and patients. You will engage with them proactively, offering assistance, resolving issues, and sharing best practices to ensure every interaction is positive. Beyond customer service, you play a key operational role by managing inventory accuracy, overseeing vendor deliveries, and maintaining the store's appearance and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleOpen and close the store in the absence of management, including system start-ups and cash handling
- check_circleProcess product returns, order voids, customer refunds, and cash drops to the safe
- check_circleRegister all sales on assigned cash registers and maintain records of scanning errors and price verifications
- check_circleEnsure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products like alcohol and tobacco
- check_circleServe as a liaison between management and team members by communicating tasks when management is absent
- check_circleCoach team members on warehouse and vendor ordering processes and assist with order reviews
- check_circleMaintain accurate inventory counts across basic departments, stockrooms, and overstock locations
- check_circleAssist with bookkeeping activities including cash reports, cash counts, ledgers, and bill payments
- check_circleManage basic department pricing, make daily price changes, and ensure proper signage is displayed
- check_circleEngage customers by greeting them, offering assistance, and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience
- check_circleEnsure store cleanliness and orderliness by performing exterior and interior maintenance tasks
- check_circleSeparate food items according to policy and assist in stock rotation using the first-in, first-out method
Requirements
- verifiedOne year of prior retail work experience as a retail key carrier or shift leader
- verifiedFluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
- verifiedValid PTCB certification or pharmacy license as required by state

Knowledge of store inventory control.
