About the Role
As a Key Holder, you serve as a vital extension of store management, ensuring the business runs smoothly in their absence. You are responsible for the full cycle of store operations, from opening and closing procedures to managing cash handling, inventory accuracy, and maintaining a safe, orderly environment. This role exists to empower team members, uphold Walgreens' distinctive customer service standards, and drive operational excellence across all departments.
Day in the Life
Your day begins by opening the store, managing system startups, and preparing the floor and stockroom for the business day. You will act as the primary liaison between management and the team, communicating tasks and reporting any disciplinary issues or customer complaints. Throughout the shift, you model a delightful customer experience by proactively engaging with shoppers, resolving issues, and sharing best practices with colleagues.
Operationally, you will oversee cash register activities, manage inventory counts, and assist with vendor deliveries and order reviews. You play a key role in maintaining store compliance, including age-restricted product regulations and food safety protocols. Additionally, you will support the team in visual merchandising, price changes, and store maintenance, ensuring the pharmacy window is staffed when needed and that all company policies are followed with integrity.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
- verifiedOne year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience
- verifiedFluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
- verifiedValid PTCB certification or pharmacy license as required by state
