The Server Virtualization Engineer III serves as a key leader in designing, implementing, and managing the organization's virtual server infrastructure. This position is critical for ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of the server environment while supporting essential services such as virtualization, server provisioning, and performance monitoring. The role goes beyond technical execution, requiring the engineer to mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance to end-users and other IT staff.
As a hybrid role, candidates must reside within a one-hour commuting distance of Richmond, VA. The position involves active participation in server build processes, including rack and stack activities within data centers, and requires the ability to travel to off-site locations, occasionally in adverse weather conditions. The environment is fast-paced, often characterized by fluctuating workloads, periods of high stress, and the need to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
