The Server Virtualization Engineer III serves as a pivotal leader in designing, implementing, and managing the organization's virtual server infrastructure. This position is dedicated to ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of the server environment while providing critical support for virtualization, server provisioning, and performance monitoring. The role requires a blend of technical expertise and mentorship, as the engineer will guide junior team members and collaborate with cross-functional IT groups to integrate VMware solutions with broader systems.
This is a hybrid role based in Richmond, VA. Candidates must reside within a commuting distance of approximately one hour from the office. The position involves periods of travel to off-site locations, which may occur in adverse weather conditions. The work environment is generally an office setting but includes data center activities requiring physical presence for rack and stack operations.

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, Information Systems, or a related degree. Virtualization Certified Professional certification. In-depth knowledge of data protection and disaster recovery principles and best practices. Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO, or CIS. Extensive experience with server virtualization and software-defined server solutions. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Hands-on experience with virtualization management and implementation. Experience in integrating server solutions with other IT systems and applications. Demonstrated ability to ensure compliance with security policies and best practices. Expertise in VMware technologies, including ESXi and vCenter Server.
