About the Department
The Department of Public Services is seeking specialized contractor assistance to drive the implementation of new and existing .NET applications. This initiative supports critical systems including the 753 Project, Pipeline Audit Safety (PAS), Water Master (WMast), Document and Matter Management (DMM), Power To Choose (PTC), and the Regulatory Calculator.
The department has identified a strategic list of new initiatives and enhancements designed to improve system efficiency across business processes. The role focuses on the creation of new systems and the modification of existing functionality, specifically targeting upgrades to the Microsoft .NET framework and the evolution of current system capabilities.
About the Role
As a consultant within the .NET Developer Team, you will serve as a key developer responsible for designing and modifying system functionality based on change requests. Your work will span the full development lifecycle, from architecting secure web applications to optimizing performance in live environments.
Day-to-day responsibilities include developing Web REST APIs, building enhancements using MVC and Entity Framework, and identifying and correcting performance bottlenecks in web applications. In addition to hands-on development, you will mentor the system development team and assist in defining software and hardware requirements for development, user acceptance testing (UAT), and production environments.
