Project Context
The Department of Public Services is seeking a Senior IT Specialist to support the implementation and enhancement of critical .Net applications. This role is vital for driving system efficiency and modernizing business processes across a suite of essential platforms, including the 753 Project, Pipeline Audit Safety (PAS), Water Master (WMast), Document and Matter Management (DMM), Power To Choose (PTC), and the Regulatory Calculator.
The position focuses on upgrading the Microsoft .Net framework and modifying existing functionalities to meet evolving departmental needs. This is a 30-month contract role designed to provide specialized expertise in system creation, architectural design, and performance optimization.
Role Overview
In this capacity, you will serve as a technical leader and mentor within the development team. Your day-to-day work involves designing and modifying system functionality based on change requests, developing Web REST APIs, and building enhancements using MVC and Entity Framework. A key component of the role is identifying and resolving performance issues in web applications while assisting in the definition of software and hardware requirements for Development, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and Production environments.
