The Bureau of School Health is seeking a Full Stack Developer to build and support critical data exchange initiatives with external clinical partners. As a member of the Management Information Systems (MIS) team, you will develop solutions from the ground up to connect the Office of School Health's electronic health record system with external clinical systems, including Health and Hospitals and private NYC hospitals.
This role is vital to improving care for 1 million New York Public School students. By enabling the seamless exchange of student asthma clinical data, you will directly support 1,200 school nurses and asthma case managers. You will also contribute to a strategic partnership with the Department of Transportation to improve outcomes for students with asthma through congestion planning data integration.
In this position, you will collaborate closely with project managers, peer developers, database administrators, and data analysts. Your day-to-day work involves designing data processes, monitoring data quality, supporting program evaluation, and assisting with reporting. You will be instrumental in creating application views for nurses to access received data and implementing robust data exchange solutions that bridge the gap between clinical partners and school health services.
