About the Organization

The Fund for Public Health in New York City (FPHNYC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to advancing the health and well-being of all New Yorkers. In partnership with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), FPHNYC incubates innovative public health initiatives, facilitating unconventional collaborations between government and the private sector. These partnerships accelerate the execution of demonstration projects and the expansion of successful pilot programs to meet the diverse needs of individuals, families, and communities across the city.

Our culture embraces learning, collaboration, innovation, and well-being, driven by open communication to maximize our impact.

About the Role

The Bureau of School Health is seeking a Full Stack Developer to build and support critical data exchange initiatives with external clinical partners. As a member of the Management Information Systems (MIS) team, you will develop solutions from the ground up to connect the Office of School Health's electronic health record system with external clinical systems, including Health and Hospitals and private NYC hospitals.

This role is vital to improving care for 1 million New York Public School students. By enabling the seamless exchange of student asthma clinical data, you will directly support 1,200 school nurses and asthma case managers. You will also contribute to a strategic partnership with the Department of Transportation to improve outcomes for students with asthma through congestion planning data integration.

In this position, you will collaborate closely with project managers, peer developers, database administrators, and data analysts. Your day-to-day work involves designing data processes, monitoring data quality, supporting program evaluation, and assisting with reporting. You will be instrumental in creating application views for nurses to access received data and implementing robust data exchange solutions that bridge the gap between clinical partners and school health services.

Hiring Process

To apply, please click "Apply Now" and upload an up-to-date resume highlighting your relevant experience. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.
