This position serves as a Senior IT Specialist focused on the creation of new systems and the modification of existing ones within the Albany, NY hybrid environment. The role centers on upgrading the Microsoft .Net framework and enhancing current functionality to meet evolving business needs.
As a senior-level contributor with over six years of experience, you will work independently to architect and design secure web applications while providing guidance and mentorship to the broader system development team. The position requires a deep understanding of the full software development lifecycle, from designing database structures in SQL Server to developing robust Web REST APIs and enhancements using MVC and Entity Framework.
Day-to-Day Context
Your daily work involves a blend of high-level architectural design and hands-on development. You will be responsible for identifying and resolving performance issues in web applications, ensuring systems remain efficient and reliable. Beyond coding, you will assist in defining software and hardware requirements for Development, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and Production environments, ensuring smooth transitions between stages.
The role demands proficiency across a diverse technical stack, including C#, ASP.NET, Web API, and XAML with the Universal Windows Platform (UWP). You will collaborate within an Agile/Scrum environment, utilizing Microsoft TFS for project management while working with technologies such as Oracle and FileNet to drive system modifications.
Hiring Process
