As a Senior Mechanical Engineer on the Avionics Team at Impulse, you will own the cradle-to-grave design, build, test, analysis, and integration of hardware for next-generation advanced propulsion space vehicles. This role is designed for a self-driven engineer who thrives in a startup environment, uniquely creative and capable of leading complex projects from concept through launch.
You will partner with cross-functional teams—including electrical, propulsion, GNC, and structural engineering—to architect integrated solutions that optimize vehicle performance and reliability. Your work will define system-level requirements, drive mechanical design decisions, and ensure seamless alignment between avionics systems and vehicle structures. Expect to engage directly with suppliers, lead structural and thermal qualification testing, and provide technical leadership during design reviews and failure investigations.
To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), candidates must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Employment is governed on the basis of merit, competence, and qualifications, and will not be influenced by race, color, religion, gender, national origin/ethnicity, veteran status, disability status, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, or any other legally protected status.
