We are seeking a Senior Maintenance Worker to join our team, dedicated to preserving the beauty and functionality of City parks, streets, facilities, and infrastructure. In this position, you will perform essential general labor and maintenance tasks, ensuring all work is conducted in strict accordance with safety regulations and procedures.
You will be an integral part of a Projects Crew, working alongside 3 or more employees. Your day-to-day involves a dynamic mix of responsibilities, from digging ditches and removing debris to operating specialized equipment for constructing pavilions, playgrounds, and cement walls. You will also handle the operation, minor adjustments, and general maintenance of trucks and tools used in these projects.
As a Senior Maintenance Worker, you may be called upon to lead or supervise the crew in the absence of the Crew Leader. Your role requires versatility, ranging from playground equipment construction and landscaping maintenance to clearing trash and brush from roadways and facilities. You will also be responsible for cleaning and storing hazardous materials according to City policy and reporting any safety hazards or equipment problems immediately.
This role is physically demanding and performed primarily outdoors. You will work in extreme weather conditions, perform strenuous activity for extended periods, and may be required to work at heights of up to 50 feet. The position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 117 pounds and withstand constant vibrations from equipment.
The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, including a 30-minute lunch. This role may also require work on some weekends and holidays. Regular and timely attendance is a strict requirement for this position.
