Founded in 2015, Shield AI is a venture-backed deep-tech company with a mission to protect service members and civilians using intelligent systems. Our technology, including the V-BAT and X-BAT aircraft and the Hivemind product lines, actively supports operations worldwide. With offices and facilities across the U.S., Europe, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific, we are dedicated to advancing autonomous capabilities for defense and security.
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to serve as the electrical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for our V-BAT Fleet Support team. In this position, you will own customer-facing engineering support for aircraft electrical issues across our fielded fleet. You will act as the critical bridge between Fleet Support and our avionics, electrical, software, and systems engineering teams, ensuring complex technical problems are resolved quickly and thoroughly.
This role is designed for an engineer who thrives in a dynamic environment, moving fluidly between schematic-level analysis, hardware debugging, and direct field support. You will lead escalated investigations into aircraft electrical and avionics issues, diagnosing everything from power-distribution faults and connector failures to intermittent anomalies caused by environmental factors. Your work will directly influence design improvements by identifying recurring failure patterns and driving clear feedback into our manufacturing and quality organizations.
Our recruitment process utilizes AI tools to assist in reviewing applications and analyzing resumes. These tools support our team but do not replace human judgment; final hiring decisions are made by humans. If you have questions about how your data is processed during this process, please contact us directly.
