As an Avionics Technician, you will serve as a critical guardian of flight safety and mission readiness. You will be responsible for the installation, inspection, testing, adjustment, and repair of complex avionics equipment, including radar, communications, navigation, and missile control systems. This role is designed for a self-starter who thrives in an environment requiring independence and precision, performing tasks with little to no supervision.
Your day-to-day involves diagnosing malfunctions in sophisticated aircraft systems using advanced test equipment such as oscilloscopes, frequency counters, and time domain reflectometers. You will interpret schematics and technical orders to execute repairs, calibrations, and component replacements, ensuring every system meets rigorous operational standards. Beyond the technical work, you will maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, including FOD awareness and tool control, while documenting all maintenance actions in aircraft records.
This position offers a dynamic work setting that may take you from inside aircraft maintenance hangars to outdoor operational areas. You will be exposed to the realities of aviation maintenance, including extreme weather conditions, high noise levels from turbine and jet engines, and potential exposure to fumes or electrical hazards. The role demands physical agility, requiring you to climb ladders, work on stands, and navigate various surfaces, while handling tools and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
At V2X, we strive to offer market-competitive total reward packages. Your starting pay will reflect your unique skills, experience, and qualifications, with a specific base pay range provided for Maryland locations. In addition to base compensation, the role includes a Union Flex Benefit Credit and an Opt-Out Health Credit for those with their own coverage. Additional compensation elements may include overtime, premium pay, and differential pay.
