The Electric Engineering department ensures all aspects of electric engineering—including standards, process safety, design, instrumentation, controls, undergrounding, regulatory compliance, and investment planning—are in place to safely enable a strategic and stable workplan for Electric Operations partners. Comprising approximately 2,000 coworkers, the organization is accountable for program planning, financial budgeting, and the execution and delivery of all electric engineering projects.
As a Senior Engineer within the Strategy & Growth business unit, you will operate at a mastery level, providing technical specifications for equipment, design criteria, and standards for transmission line structures. This role is designed to handle complex problems and issues, serving as a subject matter expert who applies extensive knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices.
You will lead the development, implementation, and management of complete asset life cycle and system reliability strategies, covering installation, maintenance, operations, replacement, and removal. A key component of your day-to-day involves acting as the civil engineer for non-tower structures, developing and updating framing design standards for wood poles, LDSPs, and composite poles. You will also initiate investigations into new technologies, maintain relationships with vendors and technical experts, and provide specialized training on assets within your areas of expertise.
