About the Team

At dbHMS, we are a collection of doers and thinkers who combine a passion for engineering and modeling with our clients' vision to realize successful construction projects in our community and worldwide. Our staff is united in delivering high-performance, efficient, and sustainable buildings globally. We are dedicated to leaving a legacy of stewardship and innovation through our impact on the built environment.

Our DataBased+ Studio, located in our Chicago office, delivers data-based, human-centered design support services. We focus on industry-leading performance across sustainability, resilience, human health and wellness, and operating costs. Our dynamic work environment encourages innovation and collaboration, offering a supportive culture with a diverse workforce, flexible work schedules, and regular social events.

About the Role

The Senior Building Performance Analyst is a pivotal member of the design team for every new building, major renovation, or community planning project at dbHMS. This role serves as the backbone of our approach to delivering the best built environment for our clients.

In this position, you will support high-performance simulation for a variety of projects while working closely with internal teams to deliver efficient, long-lasting buildings. You will ask and answer critical questions that lead to design decisions, improving indoor air quality and thermal comfort while minimizing costs and maximizing resource efficiency for buildings, campuses, neighborhoods, or regions. Beyond technical analysis, you will facilitate discussions that guide project teams toward higher performance, articulate building systems and science principles to clients, and play a strong part in the training and mentorship of junior team members.

Work Environment

Most duties will be performed in an office environment. While dbHMS operates with both hybrid and remote-only work policies, this position is a hybrid role with in-office responsibilities. The typical work week consists of five eight-hour shifts. We offer a competitive benefits package including 401(k) matching, comprehensive insurance, paid time off, and professional organization dues reimbursement.

Equal Opportunity

dbHMS is committed to a diverse workforce and providing a safe, accessible workplace. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background.
