FPF works to advance responsible data practices. Staffed with experts in law, technology, and public policy, FPF operates on the belief that technological innovation and new uses of data can help solve big societal problems and improve lives. We work to reach consensus on ethical norms, policies, and business practices to address new privacy challenges.
FPF operates in five countries with policy expertise across six continents, bringing the privacy and data protection community together through annual events, including the D.C. Privacy Forum, the Brussels Privacy Symposium, and the Privacy Executives Summit.
In 2024, FPF launched the Center for Artificial Intelligence, an initiative that expands FPF's role as a global forum for privacy executives navigating rapid change in AI development, deployment, and governance. The team focuses deeply on AI-specific technical, operational, and policy issues, such as AI agents, identifiability within the AI lifecycle, and global multi-jurisdictional AI risk management and governance.
Based in Washington, DC, this new position contributes to FPF's work on corporate AI risk management and governance while supporting a broad AI law and policy portfolio. Reporting to the Senior Director for the Center for Artificial Intelligence, you will coordinate with FPF members to conduct benchmarking, facilitate small group discussions, analyze emerging governance resources, and research and write substantive legal and policy resources on emerging AI governance issues.
This role is designed to address emerging membership needs related to AI governance. Depending on the candidate's experience, the position may be filled at the Fellow, Policy Counsel/Analyst, or Senior Counsel/Senior Analyst level. You will help define, build, and grow FPF's AI Governance portfolio in line with strategic objectives. Success in this role requires flexibility and the ability to rapidly adapt to significant shifts in priorities, policies, and practices as the data governance world evolves.
