About the Role
As a Secondary English Teacher at Northwest Independent School District, you will serve as a catalyst for student growth, fostering intellectual, emotional, physical, and social development. By maintaining open communication and demonstrating ethical, responsible behavior, you will help build a culture where students thrive.
The Day-to-Day Experience
Your work will center on designing and delivering engaging learning activities that fulfill the district's curriculum requirements while accommodating individual student learning styles. You will utilize technology to strengthen the teaching and learning process, ensuring that instruction aligns with guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency and district policies.
Collaboration is key to your success. You will work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula for students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and actively participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to refine instructional strategies. You will also supervise teacher aides and student teachers, guiding them in their development while managing classroom behavior and discipline in accordance with board policies.
Beyond the classroom, you will engage with the broader school community by conducting conferences with parents and students, assisting in the selection of instructional materials, and sponsoring extracurricular activities approved by the campus principal. You will also take on the responsibility of maintaining accurate records and reports, ensuring compliance with all state, district, and school regulations.
