The Maryland State Department of Education is dedicated to supporting a world-class educational system that prepares all students for college and career success in the 21st century. This position serves as a specialized project manager and trainer within the Office of School and Community Nutrition Programs (OSCNP). You will play a pivotal role in administering USDA nutrition programs, focusing on the development and delivery of statewide training initiatives and grant projects. Your work will directly support agencies participating in programs such as the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, and Child and Adult Care Food Program.
In this hybrid role based at the Nancy S. Grasmick Education Building in Baltimore, you will collaborate with MSDE staff and external partners to ensure program effectiveness. Your day-to-day involves creating training content, conducting virtual and in-person technical assistance, and evaluating the professional development needs of school nutrition professionals. You will also manage contracts and contribute to the implementation of key grants like Team Nutrition and Farm to School, ensuring alignment with federal regulations and state goals.

Experience with Child Nutrition Programs such as the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), School Breakfast Program (SBP), and Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP); Registered Dietitian Experience in providing, conducting or creating professional development training, virtually and/or in-person; Experience in program management and evaluation; Experience with Learning Management Systems; Experience teaching consumer sciences; Knowledge of federal laws and regulations governing school and community nutrition programs.
