The Family Service Counselor serves as the primary contact for families, acting as a compassionate guide through the process of making at-need cemetery arrangements and selling pre-need arrangements. This role is essential to generating revenue for the cemetery while providing exemplary, personalized service to client families. You will be accountable for prospecting, building community relationships, and ensuring that every family feels heard and supported during difficult times.
Your day involves holding yourself accountable for prospecting activities, obtaining referrals from families served, and networking to build community and civic relationships. You will present solutions to families, respond to inquiries with sensitivity and professionalism, and stay in touch to ensure satisfaction. By listening with genuine concern and understanding each family's unique needs, you will develop trust-based relationships that allow you to educate families on the benefits of pre-planning. You will collaborate with funeral directors and location managers to provide seamless, high-quality service from the initial contact through aftercare.
Candidates must be able to pass the Company’s internal presentation certification within thirty days of hire. The role requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends, with the ability to work up to 12 hours a day at times. A current state/province issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required, and an insurance license must be obtained if required by state law.
