The Abbott Rapid and Molecular Diagnostics (RMDx) – Infectious Disease team is seeking a dynamic Sales Development Manager to drive new business acquisition in South Florida, with a preference for candidates residing in the Greater Miami area. This role is designed for professionals with a strong background in clinical diagnostics who are passionate about identifying and converting new opportunities within hospital networks, including laboratories, emergency departments, clinics, physician office labs, and urgent care settings.
As a Sales Development Manager, you will focus exclusively on new business development, penetrating untapped accounts and expanding Abbott's footprint in the ID diagnostics space. You will be at the forefront of innovation, helping healthcare providers make faster, smarter decisions that improve patient outcomes. Your mission is to leverage technical expertise and strategic selling skills to open doors, build relationships from scratch, and deliver tailored diagnostic solutions for the ID NOW™ Platform, BinaxNOW™, DETERMINE™, and other Abbott infectious disease product lines.
You will drive the full sales cycle from initial contact to contract close, identifying and qualifying competitive leads to own a territory pipeline. Your work involves cold calling, gaining access into competitive accounts, and generating interest with healthcare providers and administrative stakeholders. You will partner with Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Technical Service, Finance, and Contracts to deliver a cohesive customer experience, while also building strong relationships with distribution representatives to sell the Abbott Infectious Disease portfolio. Once an account is secured, you will manage the successful handoff to the local team to ensure implementation success.
