About the Role
The Route Sales Representative is a full-time position responsible for delivering, selling, and merchandising bakery products to local stores on a designated route. You will drive an 18-foot box truck to various accounts, including gas stations, dollar stores, grocery stores, box stores, and schools. This role requires you to work independently to fill customer orders by unloading and shelving product while maintaining professional relationships with clients.
Day in the Life
Route Sales Representatives typically begin their day between 3:00 AM and 4:00 AM. The schedule averages 55-60 hours per week, with work required every Saturday. You will be off on Sundays and Wednesdays. Your day involves verifying warehouse pulls, loading the truck, driving to accounts, stocking shelves, obtaining receipt signatures, and using a handheld device to create orders. You will also be responsible for rotating and removing out-of-date, damaged, or stale products and issuing credits as needed.
Compensation
The average annual pay rate for this position is $55,000 – $65,000, with weekly paychecks.
