The Rooms Controller is a pivotal position designed to ensure the seamless flow of room allocation, guest arrivals, and reservation management. By collaborating closely with the Front Office team, this role directly influences guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, and revenue management, particularly during high-demand periods.
In this role, you will lead and support Guest Service Agents to deliver flawless check-in experiences. Your day involves proactively blocking and pre-registering suites and rooms in the Property Management System (PMS) based on specific guest requests, while strategically assigning VIPs in alignment with sales and management priorities. You will serve as the central communication point for oversells, special accommodations, and operational challenges, ensuring the front desk and leadership are always informed.
You will also verify billing details for third-party payments and group blocks, audit reservations on group resumes for accuracy, and partner with engineering and housekeeping to maintain precise records of out-of-order rooms. Attending Daily Business Review meetings will keep you aligned with current business trends and booking patterns, allowing you to protect blocked rooms during sold-out periods to safeguard future arrivals.
