The Ambulatory Nurse utilizes a systematic approach to nursing, incorporating assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide healthcare to individuals, families, and communities within the RN scope of practice. This role is dedicated to serving pediatric patients (ages 0-21), ensuring adherence to established standards of care while acting as a preceptor to support the development of other staff and healthcare students.
In this position, you will assist with the coordination of care, including referrals to outside specialty providers and telephone triage for both acute and chronic needs. Your day-to-day responsibilities include performing in-office procedures such as circumcision, administering immunizations and medications, and providing in-office education for parents of patients with newly diagnosed diabetes and food allergies. You will also manage the administration of Synagis for pediatric patients by obtaining prior authorizations and coordinating with specialty pharmacies.
