About the Role
The Medical Surgical Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse (RN) who utilizes the nursing process to deliver professional care to patients within the multidisciplinary activities of the M/S Unit. Reporting to the Nurse Manager, this role involves supervising nursing assistants and ensuring all care aligns with the established standards, practices, and philosophies of Carle Richland Memorial Hospital (CRMH).
In this position, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of patient care, from initial admission assessments to discharge planning. Your day will involve developing and implementing individualized plans of care, managing complex therapies such as IV access, chest tube management, and thrombolytic therapy, and responding effectively to emergency situations. You will serve as a vital link in the healthcare team, communicating directly with patients, families, and colleagues to ensure safe, high-quality care. A key focus of this role is fostering patient satisfaction through bedside reporting, rounding, and maintaining open, private communication to resolve issues and support professional growth.
Hiring Process
External candidates are invited to apply. Please note that a sign-on bonus is available based on experience: $10,000 for those with greater than one year of experience and $5,000 for those with less than one year. Additionally, a $2,500 relocation bonus is available for external candidates relocating more than 50 miles.
