This position is based on a Medical-Surgical unit with 15 beds (flexible up to 20), serving an adult population over 17 years of age with a variety of diagnoses in semi-private rooms. The unit is fast-paced and cares for medically complex patients, relying heavily on strong communication and supportive teamwork to ensure both patient success and staff satisfaction.
In this role, you will partner with a multidisciplinary team to manage a patient load of 1:5 to 1:6. Your day will involve assessing patients, administering medications, managing IVs, and utilizing specialized equipment such as wound vacs, telemetry monitors, and tube feeding pumps. You will be responsible for developing and modifying care plans, conducting bedside shift reports, and ensuring patient safety through fall precautions and isolation protocols. The environment demands critical thinking to identify changes in patient status and effective time management to facilitate quick admissions and discharges.
To apply, external applicants must have at least one year of RN experience. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is available for eligible candidates. The role requires a Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) in Illinois. While Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of hire, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is required within one year.
