This position serves as a critical link in the execution of complex construction and industrial projects. As a Skilled Rigger, you are responsible for planning, laying out, and installing all necessary rigging components to lift and position heavy equipment, machinery, piping, and steel structures. Your work ensures that operations adhere strictly to project plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.
You will be the expert on the ground, guiding large-scale heavy equipment into precise positions. This involves shaking out items for erectable sequences, utilizing crane signals, and managing tag lines to guide rigged loads safely. Beyond physical execution, the role requires a strong analytical mind to estimate sizes, distances, and quantities, as well as determining the time, costs, and resources needed for specific work activities. You will also be tasked with inspecting the work of subordinates to ensure compliance with contract plans, identifying deficiencies, and implementing corrective actions.
This role is dynamic and demands adaptability to a fast-paced construction or industrial site. You will be constantly moving, standing, walking, and navigating uneven surfaces, confined spaces, and cluttered areas. The environment is exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions, noise, and dust. The position may require working irregular hours, including weekends, overtime, and holidays.
Physical demands are significant; you must be capable of climbing and maintaining balance on formwork, steel, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds that may exceed 200 feet in height. The role also involves moving items weighing up to 50 pounds and utilizing various tools, including electrical, hand, power, and layout tools.
Safety is the foundation of this position. You must maintain a thorough understanding of LHE (Large Heavy Equipment) dynamics and associated hazards. Compliance with all safety and project rules is mandatory. Candidates must be able to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing, a fit-for-duty medical examination, and a background check.
We are an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability and protected veteran status. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
