You will join the team supporting the Naval Support Activity Panama City (NSWC PC) Rigging Shop. In this role, you will be essential to the safe and efficient movement of materials using weight handling equipment, directly supporting the daily operations of NSWC PC and various commands aboard the Naval Support Activity. Your work will also extend to providing services to Military and Contract vessels at sea.\n Operating at a journeyman level (WG 5210-10), you will perform all essential duties under the direction of the site Project Manager. The position involves a dynamic day-to-day rhythm, ranging from the fabrication of rigging components like slings, bridles, and wire rope to the deployment and recovery of inert mine fields and underwater cables. You will also support NAVAIR testing and the load testing and certification of weight handling equipment.
Your presence will be felt across multiple environments, including manufacturing plants, shipyards, and aboard vessels at sea. This role requires a high degree of physical engagement, including lifting up to 75 pounds, considerable walking, and exposure to electricity and electronic equipment. Overtime is a regular part of the schedule, and the role includes 30-40% travel, both within the US (CONUS) and outside the US (OCONUS).
