This opportunity resides with Global Security (GS) at HII Mission Technologies. Our group comprises live, virtual, and constructive (LVC) solutions, fleet sustainment, nuclear and environmental services, and Australia business operations. As a trusted partner to military customers, HII designs, develops, and operates the largest LVC enterprise that prepares warfighters for cross-domain battle. We understand that preparation requires full coordination—not readiness in piece-parts.
For more than 40 years, the U.S. Navy has entrusted HII to maintain and modernize the vast majority of its fleet. With a holistic approach to life-cycle maritime defense systems—from small watercraft to submarines, surface combatants, and aircraft carriers—we ensure a high state of readiness. Additionally, we support the Department of Energy's national security mission through the management and operation of its sites, as well as the safe cleanup of legacy waste across the country.
Our team of more than 7,000 professionals worldwide delivers all-domain expertise and advanced technologies in service of mission partners. Mission Technologies is leading the next evolution of national defense—the data evolution—by accelerating a breadth of national security solutions for government and commercial customers.
Mission Technologies is seeking an Air Mission Planner 3 (Range Control Facilitator) to support the NITE contract in Coronado, CA. In this role, you will coordinate and facilitate air, surface, and ground activities for exercises conducted within the San Clemente Island Range Complex (SCIRC).
You will serve as a vital link between range users and government clients, ensuring the common operational picture is verified for accuracy. Your day-to-day involves managing range and training area operations, creating discrepancy reports to document incidents or hazards, and facilitating proper approval advisories for aircraft participants operating on bombing ranges. You will also monitor aircraft ordnance drops and electronically score for accuracy when required.
Success in this position requires close communication to facilitate, coordinate, monitor, update, and deconflict all scheduled events in compliance with all instructions, manuals, memorandums, and directives. The role demands flexibility to work non-standard hours and weeks exceeding 40 hours to meet business and contractual requirements, with duties that may be adjusted to support evolving mission needs.
