We are seeking an advanced Respiratory Therapist to provide safe, effective, and compassionate care across the entire lifespan—from neonates to geriatric patients. This role is pivotal in ensuring high-quality respiratory support within our hospital standards and clinical practice guidelines.
As a key member of the clinical team, you will serve as a vital resource and educator for patients, families, caregivers, and fellow staff members. Beyond direct patient care, you may function as a shift team leader in the absence of a supervisor, guiding the team through complex clinical scenarios. Whether managing mechanical ventilation, assisting with critical diagnostics, or supporting external critical care transports, your expertise ensures continuity of care for our most vulnerable populations.
At VCUHS, we are dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and clinical excellence. We expect our Respiratory Therapists to demonstrate fiscal responsibility, adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, and actively participate in quality improvement activities and continuing education. Our environment is fast-paced and dynamic, requiring adaptability, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in high-stress situations while maintaining a focus on cultural responsiveness and equitable care for every patient.
VCUHS is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We consider qualified applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic. We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where every team member can contribute to our mission of providing exceptional healthcare.
