The Respiratory Therapist 3 serves as an advanced practitioner delivering safe and effective respiratory care across the full spectrum of patient populations, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. This position operates in strict adherence to discipline-specific training, Clinical Practice Guidelines, and hospital standards.
The role is defined by two primary specialized tracks: providing respiratory therapy during Labor and Delivery assistance and external critical care transport, or managing ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) for patients weighing 10kg or less. Beyond direct patient care, the Respiratory Therapist 3 acts as a vital resource and educator for patients, caregivers, hospital staff, and students. In the absence of a supervisor, this role assumes the responsibilities of a shift team leader, ensuring continuity of care and operational efficiency.
This position operates within a fast-paced, high-acuity environment requiring the ability to handle multiple priorities and adapt to frequent changes. The role may involve rotating shifts, weekend and holiday coverage, and on-call duties depending on the specific unit assignment. The physical demands include prolonged standing, frequent bending, walking, and lifting between 20 and 50 lbs, alongside the mental agility required for complex cardiopulmonary assessments and emergency responses.
We are an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce. We consider qualified applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
