As a Residential Helper, you will be an essential part of our waste removal team, riding on the truck to assist the Driver in providing prompt, courteous, and complete services for customers on a designated residential route. You are the primary worker responsible for waste and recycling collection, while the Driver serves as secondary support.
Your day involves safely loading waste, carrying bags and containers to the vehicle, and operating the packing mechanism and various levers to activate lifting and loading systems. You will also play a critical role in vehicle safety by directing the Driver from the ground during maneuvers and performing complete pre- and post-operation inspections. Maintaining the cleanliness of the vehicle, the route, and the work area is a key part of your responsibilities, including cleaning the packer blade, hopper, and truck body after each disposal trip.
Beyond the physical tasks, you will interact courteously with customers, dispatchers, and the public to ensure routes are serviced in a timely and professional manner. You will monitor waste for unacceptable items and adhere to all safety policies and productivity standards.
