About the Role
The Commercial Rear/Side Load Driver is the frontline of our waste removal services, responsible for safely and efficiently collecting solid waste and recyclables from commercial customers. This role is essential to maintaining community cleanliness and ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics network. You will operate side-load and rear-load trucks, managing the entire collection process from the curb to the post-collection facility while upholding the highest standards of safety and customer service.
Day in the Life
Your day begins with a thorough pre-trip safety inspection of the vehicle and equipment, ensuring everything is ready for the route ahead. As you navigate your assigned commercial route, you will maneuver large vehicles into tight spaces, compact waste, and interact professionally with business owners and the public. You will identify prohibited items, manage any assigned helpers, and maintain accurate documentation of services performed. The role requires adaptability to changing weather conditions and traffic patterns, all while adhering to strict safety protocols and company policies.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleLoad solid waste and recyclables into the rear or side of the waste collection vehicle
- check_circleOperate truck equipment to compact waste and recyclables into the vehicle
- check_circleReport all accidents or incidents to supervisors immediately
- check_circleMaintain accurate records of services performed and route quality standards
- check_circleWork closely with supervisors to improve routing efficiencies
- check_circleConduct pre-trip and post-trip safety lane inspections and complete daily documentation
- check_circleCommunicate vehicle mechanical problems to mechanics and supervisors immediately
- check_circleMaintain vehicle cleanliness by cleaning the cab interior and exterior daily
- check_circleManage assigned helpers and coordinate waste collection route activities
- check_circleEnsure all personal protective equipment and uniforms are worn at all times
- check_circleOperate commercial waste and recycling collection vehicles including side-load and rear-load trucks
- check_circleIdentify and remove prohibited waste items from customer carts or cans
Requirements

- verifiedClass 3 Commercial Driver's License
- verifiedMinimum one year of commercial driving experience
