CDL Driver - Rear Load

About the Role

The Commercial Rear/Side Load Driver is the frontline of our waste removal services, dedicated to safely and efficiently serving commercial customers. This role is essential for maintaining the cleanliness and operational continuity of the businesses we support. You will be responsible for collecting solid waste and recyclables from commercial buildings and transporting them to post-collection facilities, ensuring a seamless loop from pickup to processing.

Day in the Life

Your day begins with a thorough pre-trip safety inspection of the commercial waste or recycling vehicle, checking the side-load or rear-load truck, ancillary equipment, and hydraulic systems. Once on the route, you will operate the vehicle and equipment using prescribed techniques to collect and compact waste while maneuvering through tight spaces and high-traffic areas.

Throughout the shift, you will interact professionally with customers and the general public, maintaining a clean vehicle interior and exterior. You are responsible for identifying and removing prohibited items, managing assigned helpers if applicable, and maintaining accurate records of services performed. The role requires adaptability to changing weather conditions and traffic patterns, as well as the physical stamina to lift and move objects while operating heavy machinery.
