The RBC Relationship Manager role is designed to acquire and manage small business and personal relationships within an assigned geography. This position serves as a vital bridge, collaborating with RBC USWM Financial Advisors to deliver City National Bank's capabilities to their clients and prospects. Success in this role is measured by the growth of relationships, deposits, fees, and loans, requiring strong communication and presentation skills to educate advisors on small business financial needs and build trust.

You will manage an intermediate to large-sized business banking portfolio with moderate to high complexity, typically ranging from $20-40MM. The focus of the position involves maintaining existing customers, new business development, credit judgment, and loan structuring. Customers often have complicated lending requirements involving term loan agreements or revolving credit lines.
Your day-to-day will involve developing a defined strategy to engage RBC USWM Financial Advisors and other partners for client introductions, education, and follow-up. You will actively deepen client relationships through cross-selling efforts, often in collaboration with SME relationship colleagues. A key part of your mission is to capture a holistic view of a client's needs, drawing insights from data to provide sound financial advice and strategies.
You will represent the Bank by actively participating in outside civic and community affairs, business, and industry-related organizations. The role demands a commitment to quality client service, ensuring client needs are met and escalations are resolved appropriately. You will also be responsible for maintaining awareness of policy updates, staying within delegated lending authorities, and ensuring all decisions align with bank policies and applicable regulations.
To be considered for this position, you must meet the required qualifications, including a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, and a minimum of 10 years of direct sales experience and 10 years of experience in a financial institution.
