The Rehabilitation Technician Medical Office Receptionist is a unique dual-role position designed to bridge the gap between clinical care and administrative efficiency. Under the direction of the Lead Therapist, Manager, and Director, this individual serves as a vital interdepartmental liaison, ensuring professional service and fostering strong customer relations between staff, providers, and patients.
This role is dedicated to supporting therapists in executing treatment plans while simultaneously managing the day-to-day operations of the medical office. The position requires the ability to function independently, demonstrating sound decision-making within established guidelines while maintaining strict confidentiality and discretion at all times. As a key member of the interdisciplinary team, the incumbent acts as a resource and mentor in technical areas, ensuring the department runs smoothly and safely.
Your day will be a dynamic blend of direct patient care and administrative coordination. You will review patient data, prepare treatment areas, and escort patients to therapy sessions, ensuring they are ready for their appointments. You will perform specific treatment activities as directed, prioritizing safety and adhering to all regulatory standards regarding blood-borne pathogens and contact precautions.
Simultaneously, you will manage the flow of the office by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance eligibility, and processing payments. You will handle multi-line telephones, troubleshoot office equipment, and maintain supply inventories. A significant part of your role involves communicating with patients and staff, anticipating needs, and diffusing any concerns to maintain a positive environment. You will also participate in monthly department meetings and ensure all safety-related incidents are reported and addressed promptly.
