About the Role
The Associate Market Clinical Director is a pivotal leadership role designed to directly supervise, performance manage, and train Clinical Directors within an assigned market. This position is accountable for center performance objectives, P&L, growth, and culture, while ensuring the overall clinical outcomes of the market.
This role offers a unique hybrid of clinical practice and executive leadership. A portion of your time will be allocated to direct patient care as a Primary Care Physician (PCP) or other clinical duties, while the remainder is dedicated to leadership responsibilities. These include managing Clinical Director performance, fostering engagement, and building a strong clinical-operations synergy. The specific allocation of time is dynamic, dependent on factors such as PCP capacity, market needs, center size, patient membership, and Regional President direction.
You will cultivate a center-level physician culture fully aligned with the ChenMed core model, values, and behaviors. By partnering with the Clinical Center of Excellence and Talent Acquisition, you will support the clinical talent lifecycle, accelerating growth through hiring, mentoring, and role modeling exemplary clinical leadership. Your day-to-day involves regular presence in the centers under your management, facilitating talent development, and establishing relationships with payers, specialists, and the community.

Requirements

Nice to Have
3 years of clinical experience; 1 year of previous experience as a Medical Director or equivalent with a Medicare or Medicaid patient population; Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or similar specialty; Experience working with interdisciplinary teams in quality improvement and/or medical/healthcare leadership activities; Existing high-performing PCP partner and/or Medical Director within the ChenMed core model with a proven ability to manage a panel of >400 patients with outstanding clinical, customer service, and cost outcomes; Having been with the organization for >2 years; Being a recognized leader amongst peers; Ability to lead teams in quality and performance improvement initiatives; Demonstrated leadership within a specialty with a proven ability to deliver primary care in the model.
