The Market Clinical Director is a pivotal leadership role designed to directly supervise, performance manage, and train Clinical Directors within an assigned market. This position is accountable for center performance objectives, P&L, growth, and culture, while ensuring overall clinical outcomes for the market.
This role offers a unique hybrid of clinical practice and executive leadership. A portion of your time will be allocated to direct patient care as a Primary Care Physician (PCP) or other clinical duties, while the remainder is dedicated to leadership responsibilities. These include driving Clinical Director performance, fostering engagement, and building a strong clinical-operations synergy. The specific allocation of time depends on factors such as PCP capacity, market needs, center size, patient membership, and direction from the Regional President.
You will cultivate a center-level physician culture fully aligned with the ChenMed core model, values, and service standards. By partnering with Clinical Centers of Excellence and Talent Acquisition, you will support the clinical talent lifecycle, accelerating growth and modeling exemplary clinical leadership.

5 years of clinical experience (minimum 3 required). Two years of previous experience as a Medical Director or equivalent with a Medicare or Medicaid patient population. Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or similar specialty (Board eligibility required). Experience working with interdisciplinary teams in quality improvement and/or medical/healthcare leadership activities. Existing high-performing PCP partner and/or Medical Director within the ChenMed core model with a proven ability to manage a panel of >400 patients with outstanding clinical, customer service, and cost outcomes. Having been with the organization for >2 years and being a recognized leader amongst peers. Ability to lead teams in quality and performance improvement initiatives.
Skills: Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, Electronic Medical Record, Emr, Managed Care Delivery System, Clinical Outcomes, Quality Improvement Processes.
