The Procurement Transplant RN Coordinator is a pivotal member of the Arizona Transplant Teams, coordinating all aspects of solid organ procurement. This role exists to ensure the seamless disposition of organ offers, balancing the urgent needs of patients with the rigorous standards of organ viability. You will collaborate closely with transplant physicians, surgeons, and a multidisciplinary healthcare team to assess donor history, medical history, and test results, while interpreting complex data such as blood type, HLA interpretation, and donor-specific antibodies.
Your day involves navigating the immediate pre-recovery and pre-transplant processes, ensuring critical information is accurately communicated to the transplant provider. You will manage logistical complexities, including coordinating with on-site Organ Procurement Coordinators, arranging transportation for the procurement team and accepted organs, and ensuring strict regulatory compliance. This position requires adaptability to handle multiple competing priorities, working independently, and providing consistent patient and family education. The role operates on a rotating 24/7 basis, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the critical nature of transplant care.
