The Registered Nurse (RN) Staff Educator serves as a vital link between clinical practice and regulatory compliance within our long-term care setting. In this role, you will lead staff development programs, designing instruction on safety, body mechanics, infection control, and hazardous materials to meet NYSDOH mandates. You will work closely with the Director of Quality and Director of Nursing to plan, coordinate, and implement educational services that ensure a well-educated team.
Your day will involve coaching and counseling staff, monitoring job performance, and participating in disciplinary processes when necessary. You will maintain professional knowledge by attending workshops and reviewing publications while documenting all educational activities. Additionally, you will consult on employee health matters, including coordinating return-to-work efforts for those on disability or workers' compensation, and managing safety programs related to incident and OSHA reports.
