About the Role
The Registered Nurse (RN) is an integral member of the clinical support team at Hebrew SeniorLife, dedicated to utilizing the nursing process to ensure quality care and maximize the quality of life for our patients. This role is designed to be a proactive partner in a multidisciplinary environment, collaborating with physicians, nurse practitioners, social workers, therapists, and dietitians to meet complex clinical needs.
Beyond clinical duties, the RN serves as a role model and mentor, actively supporting culture change initiatives that honor patient dignity and choice. The position thrives on making every patient encounter a positive and meaningful experience, ensuring that care is not only safe and efficient but also deeply human. Whether acting as a primary nurse for a set of patients or stepping into charge nurse responsibilities, the RN is expected to foster a supportive, professional, and collaborative unit culture.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleMaintain accountability for assigned patients within a primary nursing model

- check_circleDelegate and supervise clinical care delivered by LPNs and nursing assistants
- check_circleParticipate in care planning activities and support patient autonomy
- check_circleParticipate in quality data collection and performance improvement projects
- check_circleCoach and mentor staff members including PCAs and LPNs
- check_circleDevelop patient care assignments and contribute to performance evaluations when acting as charge nurse
- check_circleCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet clinical needs and monitor outcomes
- check_circleServe as a charge nurse by providing shift oversight and delegating assignments
- check_circleIdentify and respond to safety concerns on the unit
- check_circleAssist with unit activities such as serving meals
- check_circleAssess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process
Requirements
