About the Role
Based at the Avera Surgical Center in Sioux Falls, this Registered Nurse position is a vital part of our surgical care team. You will deliver comprehensive nursing care by developing nursing diagnoses, establishing care objectives, and defining interventions. Your day will involve providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends, ensuring they understand their conditions, medications, and self-care skills.
In this varied shift role (Monday–Friday, 5:00 am – 7:00 pm, 0.9 FTE), you will collaborate closely with physicians and the broader healthcare team to coordinate care plans. You will be responsible for reviewing prescriptions, documenting patient conditions, evaluating health outcomes, and maintaining a safe, secure environment by adhering to infection-control policies and safety regulations. Additionally, you will play a key educational role, teaching patients and families about healthcare requirements and troubleshooting equipment to ensure seamless operations.
