About the Team
Avera Behavioral Health Center in Sioux Falls is dedicated to providing a structured, therapeutic environment where adults can learn to understand their diagnoses, develop Crisis Response Plans, and master healthy coping skills. The Adult B Unit, a 28-bed facility, is designed to help patients set and complete meaningful goals while receiving compassionate care from a multidisciplinary team built on the core values of compassion, hospitality, and stewardship.
About the Role
As a Registered Nurse on the Adult B Unit, you will join an active, challenging care environment that values autonomous professional nursing practice. This role exists to deliver high-quality, patient-focused care to individuals managing Anxiety, Depression, Personality Disorders, and Suicidal behavior. You will work in a positive environment with a flexible 1 RN to 7-8 patient ratio, partnering with a team of over 60 coworkers to change lives through critical thinking and dedicated support.
Your day will involve developing nursing diagnoses and care objectives while providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends. You will coordinate with physicians and healthcare providers to ensure seamless care, teach patients about their conditions and self-care skills, and maintain a safe, secure environment by adhering to strict infection-control policies and medication regulations.
