About the Role

This Registered Nurse position is based at the Avera Family Medicine Center Dawley Farm, with a unique opportunity to float across all three MCK Emergency Departments. You will deliver comprehensive nursing care by developing nursing diagnoses, establishing care objectives, and defining interventions. Your day will involve providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends, ensuring they understand their conditions, medications, and self-care skills.

You will serve as a vital link in the healthcare team, reviewing physician prescriptions, coordinating with providers, and conferring with physicians to adjust care plans as patient needs evolve. A significant part of your role involves teaching healthcare requirements, instructing patients on their conditions, and answering questions with the necessary resources. You will also maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection-control policies, medication administration procedures, and legal regulations, while ensuring patient care equipment and supplies are ready and functional.

Schedule & Compensation

This is a regular position featuring a rotating 12-hour shift schedule (days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays) over a 2-week cycle, totaling 72 hours. The role includes every other weekend and holiday. The pay range is $32.50 - $48.50 per hour, dependent on experience. Additionally, this position may be eligible for a $6,000 sign-on bonus or a $15,000 bonus with a three-year commitment.

Hiring Process

Qualified candidates must hold an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. While 1-3 years of clinical experience is preferred, the primary focus is on the ability to perform essential job functions, including adequate visual acuity and effective communication.
