The Inpatient Psychiatry Unit (G1) provides care for adults 18 and older at both St. Mary's and Rochester General Hospital. This team treats individuals with schizophrenia, mood disorders, depression, anxiety, and those receiving ECT. Nurses play a key role in direct patient care, working closely with a multidisciplinary treatment team to support complex clinical needs.
This Registered Nurse I position operates on a 36-hour weekly schedule with day, evening, or night shifts. You will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered clinical care, performing initial and ongoing assessments of patients, and developing individualized plans of care. Your day will involve communicating and documenting patient assessments with the interdisciplinary team, utilizing all available resources to meet the needs of the patient and family. You will also be expected to contribute to the department's research initiatives by completing at least one clinical research utilization form annually.
Candidates must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in New York State and a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. The role requires a Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing. While a Bachelor's Degree and at least 6 months of RN experience are preferred, all qualified applicants will be considered.
