The Inpatient Psychiatry Unit (G1) provides specialized care for adults 18 and older at both St. Mary's and Rochester General Hospital. We treat individuals with schizophrenia, mood disorders, depression, anxiety, and those receiving Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT). Our nurses play a key role in direct patient care, working closely with a multidisciplinary treatment team to support recovery and stability.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circlePerform initial and ongoing patient assessments using physical, psychological, and risk-screen data
- check_circleProvide high-quality, patient-centered clinical care to adult psychiatric patients
- check_circleCommunicate and document patient assessments with the interdisciplinary treatment team
- check_circleComplete clinical research utilization forms using recent research articles for submission
- check_circleRevise plans of care based on ongoing evaluations and update documentation accordingly
- check_circleDevelop and document individualized plans of care, treatment, and services for patients
- check_circleAdminister medications and perform clinical tasks such as de-escalation and blood draws
Requirements
- verifiedDiploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing
- verifiedRegistered Nurse license in New York State
- verifiedBasic Life Support (BLS) certification
Nice to Have
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. At least 6 months of RN experience.
