About the Role
The Registered Nurse serves as a vital member of the clinical team, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individual patient care on a nursing unit according to established policies and procedures. Working under the supervision of the Nurse Manager or Clinical Coordinator, this role involves providing supervision to non-RN personnel and assuming charge responsibilities to delegate and oversee unit activities as needed.
In this position, you will function as a preceptor to new staff and demonstrate specialized competency in the care of neuro patients. Your day-to-day work includes performing neuro assessments, managing airways for neuro patients, caring for tracheostomy patients, and assisting physicians during special neuro procedures. You will also be skilled in the use of equipment for patients in halo braces and managing patients on ventilators.
Hiring Process
Candidates must possess a valid State of Connecticut Registered Nurse License and BLS certification. A graduate of an accredited school of nursing is required, with a BSN preferred. Applicants must have one year of Neonatal ICU RN experience.
