About the Role
This position is designed for Registered Nurses with at least two years of experience in ICU or Critical Care settings. As a Clinical Nurse within the MedStar Union Memorial Hospital Critical Care Float Pool, you will provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across a spectrum of needs, ranging from routine to highly complex. Your role involves assessing evolving patient conditions, identifying actual and potential health concerns, and developing appropriate care plans. Interventions may be delivered directly or coordinated through collaboration with other members of the nursing team.
Team and Culture
The Critical Care Float Pool offers a unique opportunity to float primarily to ICU and ICU Stepdown units, as well as other critical care units. The team is known for excellent teamwork and a supportive hospital culture with low associate turnover. This role is a full-time position scheduled for days, featuring three 12-hour shifts with every other weekend rotation (six weekend shifts in six weeks). The schedule also includes three designated holidays per year and two hard-to-fill shifts annually.

Compensation
This position offers a competitive hourly rate ranging from $41.96 to $59.91. Compensation is based on working experience as a nurse plus various differentials, including an hourly float pool differential, night differential for 12-hour shifts, weekend differential, and hourly charge/preceptor pay.
